The would be Oligarchs have worked for decades with stealth and patience, training us to accept their anti-democratic version of liberty a little at a time so we wouldn't notice. I think of this high dollar political donor class as Goliath. Thankfully the founding fathers gave us a superpower. In the past, when Goliath threatened, "We the People" overwhelmed and defeated the Giant using our superpower.... THE VOTE!

A little constitutional history ....

In order to include and accommodate people from New York to Mississippi and ensure the participation of the entire population, the Constitution's framers built our democratic republic from the local level out aiming to respect regional flavor, while creating a United States of America. Strength in numbers. Comfort at home. This, at times, has frustrated all sides in the struggle toward a more perfect union. It's worth remembering however, that despite our country's many setbacks, we persisted! Our democracy held together a vast nation of diverse interests, through multiple stresses and mood swings, to lead the world throughout the American century. Bruised, but stronger in the end!

Will the empire survive the 21st century?

The only sure path to maintaining representative democracy, lies in addressing the scourge of money in politics. This will be a bloody battle! Since Goliath has been working for decades to divide and conquer, we will not reverse this damage in one election cycle. We too must be ready for a long war! Patient and persistent.

Calling all citizens in every corner of the country!!!

Who among us thinks the Supreme Court approved purchase of our politicians is a good thing? So let's each train a critical eye on the integrity of our own local elections. This is not a partisan issue! Remember the founders wanted us to hold on to cherished regional identity and keep a vibrant democracy at the same time. By doing all we can to inform and encourage the participation of every citizen, in every election, year after year, we might just get there.

So ....

At this particularly scary crossroads, with years of incremental propaganda having worked its way into the mainstream, doubt has successfully been cast on the very foundations of civilized life. When we no longer have faith in functional government in general and the election process in particular .... chaos ensues! And CHAOS is exactly what Goliath, a tiny cabal of powerful elites has been working toward all these years.

Why?

In CHAOS they can STEAL! Money, property, elections and middle class life itself are all up for grabs.

It's a stark choice ....

We can either buy into the notion of total "Economic liberty" for a mega privileged few, where all taxation is theft, money equals speech and profits made, justify any means, in any circumstance, without exception.

Or ....

We can wake to the severity of the moment, use our superpower to stand with the courage of our convictions, reject the greed that threatens decades of social order and the very planet itself, defeat Goliath and SAVE DEMOCRACY from within!
